New roofs

New roof installation

Quick answer

A new roof starts with the right design for the structure: slope, material, underlayment, flashing and ventilation, all to current Florida Building Code. Roof It installs new shingle, tile, metal and low-slope roofs on additions, rebuilt structures and new homes, and coordinates with your builder, engineer and the building department.

Where we install new roofs

Home additions

Tying a new roof into an existing one is where many leaks start. We plan the transition, flashing and slope so the two work as one roof.

Rebuilt or replaced structures

After a fire, a fallen tree or major storm damage, when the framing is new and the roof system is built from the deck up.

New homes and outbuildings

Roofing for builders and owner-builders, from dry-in to final, on homes, garages, workshops and pool houses.

Porches, lanais and carports

Low-slope and metal roofs over outdoor living space, with drainage designed in from the start.

Getting the design right

  • Roof slope matched to the material (shingles need at least 2:12; below that is a low-slope system)
  • Underlayment and secondary water barrier to current code
  • Fastening and edge metal rated for the site’s design wind speed
  • Valleys, wall flashing and penetrations detailed before they are covered
  • Intake and exhaust ventilation balanced for a Florida attic

Working with your builder

On new construction, the roof has to fit the builder’s schedule and the building department’s inspections. We work from the approved plans and product approvals, communicate dry-in dates and keep the roofing inspections moving.

If you are an owner-builder or planning an addition, we can talk through material options and what the permit will need before the plans are final.

New roof questions

Can a new addition roof match my existing roof?

Usually, though an exact match is not always possible. Shingle colors change over the years and older shingles fade. We bring samples to compare in daylight, and sometimes the better answer is a complementary material, such as metal on a porch.

Do you work with general contractors and builders?

Yes. We can work as the roofing contractor on a builder’s project, from the approved plans and on the builder’s schedule.

Are estimates free?

Yes. Call (321) 352-3177 to set up a free estimate for a repair, a reroof or a new roof.
